Aalto University is leading technological University in Finland. School of Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering is participating in Machinaide project with their research staff and students. Aalto University has established a research platform for industrial Digital Twin applications in its Aalto Industrial Internet Campus. The platform will be used in Machinaide project to develop the required data integrations in a concrete test process application and later to develop innovative HMIs. Moreover, the platform will be used for demonstrations of the research outcomes. Important part of this platform is Ilmatar-crane which will be used in demonstrations and also as a research platform. Aalto will have major contribution in writing the scientific publications during the project. Aalto will contribute in transferring the project outputs to industry via strong collaboration with Finnish and international partners.

Ermetal Automotive was established in 1978 in accordance with the developments of Turkish Automotive Industry and kept growing consistently since then. Ermetal works with key industries as Tier 1 supplier particularly the main automotive producers like TOFAS/FIAT, Ford, Renault, Toyota on the purpose of designing die and developing production process in order to produce sheet metal parts of vehicle bodies including roof, chassis, closure & body parts and steering columns. Up to 1600T double action presses with the 800T robotic press lines, 40.000.000 parts can be stamped per year with 60.000 tons sheet metal consumption. Ermetal is involved as an end user in the MACHINAIDE project. At the end of the project, Ermetal will have a role in implementation of digital twin, artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies in it’s real production areas, which are the main outputs of the project. Ermetal will also monitor the activities and evaluate the results. It is expected to lower maintenance costs and reduce waste by predicting maintenance before breakdowns occur, improving OEE, resulting by reduced downtime and improved performance, maximize overall manufacturing productivity and business profitability.
Erste Software is a software company founded in early 2017 and based in Ankara, Turkey. The main business area of the company is smart environments and the main expertise of the company includes internet of things, big data and cloud computing. Erste Software employs a team which worked in several EU funded R&D projects.
By combining control, automation and robotics technologies with information technologies, TEKNOPAR provides platform technologies for industrial communication systems, servo-controlled motion control systems, embedded software, PLC, SCADA and HMI. In the MACHINAIDE project, TEKNOPAR aims to establish the Internet of Industrial Objects (IIoT) platform, which will realize the required information lifecycle on the machinery for generation and utilization of the digital twin. For this purpose, TEKNOPAR will provide related platform technologies that enable data to be acquired, stored, and processed at required quality. TEKNOPAR’s contributions will be in: determining and prioritizing the requirements, integration of system hardware, software and communication components, determining new data sources, preparing the platform architecture, supporting data exchange between different protocols, creating a bridge for the required software services between HMI and systems, and presenting the required tool set.
